Four chapters in and we're at peak boredom via overboard accounting. Considering readers of the Bible will have already gotten through the creation story (stories?), the Great Flood, and the Plagues of Egypt, we wonder why efforts to be meticulous with data is spent on ultimately trivial matters such as tribe population, who leads them, and where the are all positioned in relation to each other and NOT on the creation of the universe, the technicalities of the ark, or how God's power works in regard to creating devastating plagues. That's all to be believed and taken at face value, but when it concerns firstborns in a couple handfuls of tribes, now we need very specific tallies and locations of their camps around a tabernacle.

The books so far are all Mosaic, so they're connected, but they couldn't feel any more disjointed and, frankly, rather absurd.
